How Listening to the Wrong "Experts" Can Kill Your Career-One Agent's Perspective

As Robert DeNiro says in Raging Bull "everyone is an authority"!

And there is no shortage of them these days - many of them self proclaimed 'social media experts'.

You hear them everywhere "don't pay a dime for marketing" or "Twitter your way to riches"

All these experts make THEIR money telling you where you should not spend their money (while they collect their seminar fees from YOU)

Here is a blog post from Heather Lawson who is doing lots of things the experts tell her not to and is doing well.

It's called "How Listening to the Wrong Experts Almost Ruined my Real Estate Career"

BTW on Monday HomeGain will be announcing another agent who made a million dollars using HomeGain's Agent Evaluator.

How much are you making listening to the experts?

Are First Time HomeBuyers Enough to Support the Housing Recovery?

Recently there has been a spike in existing home sales. A good part of that spike has been attributed to the activity of first time home buyers. Some HomeGain members say that the first time homebuyers are attracted to the $8000 credit under the Obama stimulus package

Will first time homebuyers be enough to support the housing recovery?

See "First Time Home Buyers Boost Home Sales".

Talking at Cross Purposes on Twitter

What do you think of people who have thousands of followers on twitter? Are they connecting better than you?

Do their followers really follow them? Are the mega twitterites getting any business from their prodigious followings?

I recently posted "I agree to talk while you are talking" in an attempt to answer some of these questions.

Please take a look and provide thoughts here or on the HomeGain blog.
